Rules
  • Players alternate. On your turn, place one piece of either colour on any empty cell of the 61-cell hex board.
  • A group is a set of same-coloured pieces connected edge to edge.
  • Groups can never be larger than five. A placement is illegal if it would create a group of six or more, either by adding to a group of five or by joining two or more groups into one. Such cells are dimmed while you hold that colour; you may still be able to place the other colour there. If neither colour can legally be placed anywhere, you must pass.
  • At the end of your own turn, only groups of your colour are checked: a group of exactly four (quart) means you lose; a group of exactly five (quint) means you win. A quart takes precedence.
  • Passing is only allowed when you have no legal move. End conditions still apply after a pass, so a player stuck with a group of four loses. Two consecutive passes, or a full board, is a draw.
